The North London Heat and Power Project is North London Waste Authority’s proposal to build an Energy Recovery Facility with associated buildings and works. It will replace the existing plant at the Edmonton EcoPark by around 2025 so we can continue to turn waste into electricity, heat and power. The existing plant is expected to reach the end of its operational life around 2025.

Three years ago, on 22 January 2019, works to transform Edmonton EcoPark into a new sustainable waste hub commenced. Since then, the project has gone from strength to strength and the site is unrecognisable from when construction first began.

North London Waste Authority (NLWA) yesterday, 24 January 2022, signed the contract to build the UK’s most advanced Energy Recovery Facility with the infrastructure and renewable energy developer, ACCIONA.

This year, the North London Heat & Power Project (NLHPP) recognised National Inclusion Week between Monday 27 September – Friday 1 October. Celebrated annually, National Inclusion Week promotes the power of acceptance in the face of discrimination. The event centres around a specific theme, with past themes including Each One, Reach One, to encourage people to connect with their peers.
