Safety during Construction

We are committed to putting the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the project, and those working and living in the local community, as our number one priority.

All our contractors are expected to uphold this commitment and follow suit with their own practices.

Our vision, which we are delivering through our Safety First campaign, is to lead new standards of excellence in health, safety and wellbeing in construction. We want everyone to take pride in the absence of incidents, within of the most advanced safety cultures to work in.

We will work with our contractors to ensure they meet the Code of Construction Practice and other industry standards. Before any construction activity commences, our contractors will register with, and adhere to, the Considerate Constructors Scheme which encourages best practice beyond statutory requirements. Furthermore, the ERF is registered with the National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry (NAECI), which will establish a partnership with trade unions to promote positive working practices and cultures. Our ERF Contractor adopting “Blue Book” arrangements – to guarantee worker terms, conditions and procedures.
