Post-16 Schools Programme

Image

The NLHPP Post-16 Schools Programme aims to spark students’ interest in STEM subjects, careers in construction, engineering and waste management as well as introducing students to waste in London and how we can manage this sustainably.

This programme is available to sixth form colleges within the seven north London boroughs served by NLWA: Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest.

The programme offers site visit workshops and tours, which can be tailored to suit the needs of students with additional needs or outside of mainstream education, including Special Educational Needs and Pupil Referral Units.

To express your interest or book a session, please email nlhpp@nlwa.gov.uk.

Site Visits

Students can visit Edmonton EcoPark House, a state-of-the-art community building in the heart of the NLHPP where our educational programmes and community sessions are run.

Students will engage in a workshop, hear from professionals who work on the NLHPP and go on a tour of the Resource Recovery Facility

Our site visits are available to book on Tuesdays each month, site visits typically run from 10:00-12:30. A maximum of 30 attendees can be hosted each visit.

Additional Resources

The NLHPP no longer runs primary or secondary school content, instead you can visit NLWA for primary and secondary school sessions at EcoPark House.

The NLWA also offers online tools for teachers focusing on waste prevention and recycling. Visit the North London Waste Education Hub for more information.
